The Anglican Communion Network of Bishops’ Spouses (ACNBS)
What is the Network?
The network exists for those who are the spouse of a serving bishop in the Anglican Communion.
Its aim is to be a system to connect and encourage bishops’ spouses around the Anglican Communion in their work and ministry as they journey with Christ.
Meeting online or regionally, it is a network for communication, prayer, support, welcome and growth.
Where did the Network begin?
The Lambeth Conference 2022 gathered bishops and their spouses from around the world and included a programme where bishops’ spouses met for Bible study, workshops and fellowship. The network developed out of the energy and desire for community that was expressed during this time.
Why participate in the Network of Bishops’ Spouses?
- Be part of a fellowship of peers and build one another up through prayer and Bible study.
- Develop international and cross provincial links amongst bishops’ spouses.
- Access training, workshops and retreat opportunities that build strength and resilience.
- Learn from diverse experiences and cultures of Anglican spouses.
How is the Network supported?
The Network’s Planning Group is comprised of bishops’ spouses representing members from around the globe with different languages and perspectives.
How can you get involved?
Currently, the focus of the network is providing monthly Bible Studies on Zoom. Studies are offered on two different dates and times to cater for different time zones around the Anglican Communion. Where possible, language interpretation is provided for online meetings to support diverse participation.
