International Anglican Women’s Network (IAWN)

The International Anglican Women’s Network (IAWN) is an official network of the Anglican Communion that serves as a powerful global voice for Anglican women. Its mission is deeply rooted in the belief in the God-given dignity of all women and girls. IAWN works tirelessly to eradicate gender-based inequality and violence in all its forms, promoting just and loving relationships among all people. Linking women from every corner of the Communion, the network’s vision is to be a bold and prophetic voice, challenging injustice wherever it is found.

IAWN’s work is both strategic and practical. It advocates for the full and equal participation of women in the decision-making life of the Church and society. A major focus is the eradication of gender-based violence (GBV), including human trafficking, through awareness campaigns like the 16 Days of Activism. The network also champions women’s access to education, healthcare, and sustainable economic empowerment, recognising these as crucial for gender equality. Through its newsletters, resources like “God’s Justice,” and its active social media presence, IAWN empowers women at national, provincial, and Communion-wide levels, strengthening women’s ministries and ensuring their voices and contributions are central to the mission of the Anglican Communion.
