Pope Francis and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, commissioned Anglican and Roman Catholic bishops for joint mission and witness during a ceremony at the Basilica of St Paul’s Outside the Walls in Rome. This event marked the end of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and was part of the ‘Growing Together’ programme organised by IARCCUM. The commissioning aims to promote unity and reception of theological agreements between the two traditions.
