Course: Heirs of the Treasure of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Learn more about sixty years of Anglican-Catholic dialogue through a vibrant course in the heart of Rome. Heirs of the Treasure of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a course exploring six decades of ecumenical dialogue between Anglicans and Catholics through the ARCIC texts, examining what remains distinctive to each tradition and what is still needed for unity. The course forms part of the ACR’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

Hosted at the Anglican Centre in Rome.

The Revd Canon Dr Jamie Hawkey, Canon Theologian of Westminster Abbey.

What will the course feature?
Mornings are spent in seminar discussion at the Anglican Centre in Rome; afternoons visit one of Rome’s great churches, each paired with that day’s theme and accompanied by a Roman Catholic scholar. A full schedule is available on the Anglican Centre in Rome’s website.

What does it cost?
A deposit of €100 is due within 7 days of registration to secure your place. The full donation of €450 is due by 15 September 2026.

What is the Anglican Centre in Rome?
The Anglican Centre in Rome provides a range of seminars, courses, pilgrimages and events throughout the year on theology, culture and ecumenism. It also hosts Scholars-in-Residence and welcomes clergy on sabbatical, offering access to a unique library and the extraordinary resources of Rome itself.

What is ARCIC?
The Anglican–Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC) is the principal theological dialogue between the Anglican Communion and the Roman Catholic Church, tasked with the goal of restoring full, visible unity.
