The 1997 assembly of the Anglican Indigenous Network (AIN) was held at the University of Lethbridge, Canada. Delegations discussed various issues including indigenous theological training, the role and jurisdiction of indigenous bishops, and native spirituality. The assembly also addressed the need for indigenous input on church policies to combat racism and sought official recognition from the Anglican Consultative Council.
