IAFN’s latest newsletter is an encouragement. It tells stories from many different parts of the Communion about work being done to include children and young people in the life of Anglican churches and to assist them in exploring their own faith and spirituality. The common themes are the need to involve the young, listen to them, and celebrate their energy and gifts.

The International Reformed-Anglican Dialogue (IRAD) between the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) and the Anglican Communion met for its second meeting, at Clare College, Cambridge, England, 2 to 8 September 2016. The Co-Chairs are the Revd Elizabeth Welch (Reformed) and the Most Revd David Chillingworth (Anglican).

The Anglican-Old Catholic International Co-ordinating Council (AOCICC) met in the Carmelite Monastery in Ghent, Belgium, from 7-11 June 2016. The meeting was hosted by the Anglican Communion. This was the fourth meeting of the Council under its current mandate.

The Anglican-Lutheran International Coordinating Committee (ALICC) held its fourth meeting in Adelaide, Australia, 25 to 31 May 2016, under the leadership of Bishop Michael Pryse of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada and Bishop Tim Harris of the Anglican Church of Australia, co-chairs.

The Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC) is the official body appointed by the Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion to engage in theological dialogue in order that they may come into visible unity and full ecclesial communion. It held the sixth meeting of its current phase (ARCIC III) in an atmosphere of shared prayer and friendship at the St John's Convent, Toronto, hosted by the Anglican order of the Sisters of St John the Divine, 11-19 May 2016.

This newsletter starts with the Editorial exploring the theology of the Cross where Christ’s strength is revealed in weakness. So what makes a strong family, strong family relationships and a strong Church? This is an important question when ‘strength’ can so easily mask abuses of power.
