The Anglican–Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC) held the seventh meeting of its current phase (ARCIC III) in Erfurt, Germany, 14–20 May, 2017.

The May 2017 edition of the International Anglican Women’s Network newsletter is a UN Commission on the Status of Women special! The sixty-first session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW61) addressed a critical theme –the empowerment of women in the changing world of work – at a critical moment in world affairs. This is a time to come together, and that is precisely what we did at the UNCSW61.

In 2013, the newly created Anglican–Lutheran Coordinating Committee—ALICC—began its work. One of the tasks given to ALICC included acting as a catalyst for the development of Anglican–Lutheran relations and to collaborate in the observance of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017.

I bring you greetings from the wider Anglican Communion; and they are real greetings in the Spirit-- warm and heartfelt. You – the Church of England – can never be just one of the 38 provincial churches of the Anglican Communion. As the very word ‘anglicana’ implies, there is a living tradition of faith in the Gospel as this church has received it, from the missionary work of St Augustine of Canterbury 1,420 years ago, to the particular experience of renewal in the English Reformation and beyond.
