In loving memory and in thanksgiving, from Anglican and Episcopal delegates to sessions of the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

The month of March brings with it Women’s World Day of Prayer (known in some countries simply as World Day of Prayer), International Women’s Day and the annual session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

Anglican women and men have been taking part in all these events and this newsletter gives a flavour of some of the activities that have been going on to promote the gifts, well-being and equal God-given dignity of women and girls.

The 25^th November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. It is also White Ribbon Day and the first day of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence. So IAWN's newsletter has lots of news about how Anglicans are getting involved, with links to all sorts of resources to help us.

It also has good news about the recent meeting of IAWN's Steering Group and how it will be focusing its energy and efforts in the next couple of years.

And as we head towards Freedom Sunday on 2 December, when many churches recommit to tackling human trafficking and modern day slavery, there is an inspiring reflection on how a church has taken action, and a link to multi-lingual resources.

The August 2017 edition gathers news from around the Anglican Communion and anticipates our October newsletter on Anglican responses to human trafficking by featuring the story of an IAWN member who has survived modern day slavery. Please pray for her and for all those highlighted in our newsletter.

The May 2017 edition of the International Anglican Women’s Network newsletter is a UN Commission on the Status of Women special! It contains the thoughts, impressions and discoveries of some of the Anglican delegates to the Commission’s 61^st session and reveals the depth of their experience – and their realisation that any one of us can be an advocate for women and girls around the world.
