In 2008, the Anglican Communion UN Advisory Council voted unanimously to become a member of the Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility (ICCR).

Since the UN’s first international conference on women in 1975 and the  subsequent growth of the global women’s movement, women have used the UN as  a key advocacy space to advance global policy on women’s rights and to improve  the status of women in countries around the world.
