The Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam was adopted at the Nineteenth Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers in Cairo on 5 August 1990. It reaffirms the role of the Islamic Ummah in guiding humanity and asserts human rights in accordance with Islamic Shari’ah.
