"But before I join Peter and continue Jesus’ ministry of calling everyone to follow, I must be one myself who has heard the call. I am a recipient of this light that has broken into my darkness. It is as one who has received that I offer this gift."
Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury
Going further on the road of Christian faith and discipleship sometimes means climbing steep mountains or passing through deep valleys. But we are not alone and we have many promises to hold onto:
"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me." Psalm 23:4
"And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
“Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us." Hebrews 12:1-3
The Anglican Witness Discipleship Path points you towards resources that focus on helping you, or those in your care, to go further in your journey of faith - to run the race as a life-long disciple.
The global people movement is central to the work of the Church as it determinates the nature of Christian communities in the globalised society and shapes the world’s cultural, social, political and economical context, including shaping the global Mission.
In the context of the global people movement, we seek to explore the experience of Anglican and Episcopal migrant communities in London, Melbourne and Toronto and the Church engagement with them. In a series of interviews with migrants and the Church leadership we will try to identify the main topics of concern. We aim to draw lessons to help develop credible approaches and ways migrant Christians can be a resource for local and global Mission.
Anglican Witness facilitates a core group of mission leaders and practitioners promoting a Communion-wide focus on intentional discipleship as a response to current challenges for Christians around the world.
Issues discussed cover current news across the Communion, discipleship, the five marks of mission, youth and children, evangelism, and unreached people groups.Join our group
