Within the Communion and beyond, we recognise that the empowerment of women and men to live and work in just relationship requires a transformation among individuals and in all our communities.
There are about 43 million women in the world-wide Communion with a vast diversity of experience and gifts. This section of the Anglican Communion website serves to tell their stories, share their experience and celebrate their achievements.
God’s Justice: Theology and Gender based Violence can help churches and members everywhere live together in mutually loving relationships free of violence and abuse, as Jesus Christ had taught. Written by scholars, clergy, and laity from different parts of the Anglican Communion, the purpose of God’s Justice is to show how the Bible and Christian teachings can support just, loving, and mutually respectful relationships, and to offer ways that churches can--and should--respond to gender-based injustice, abuse, and violence. God’s Justice is rooted in Resolution 16.02, passed by the Anglican Consultative Council in 2016, which encourages all provinces to help girls and boys, women and men, to participate in relationships “that reflect Christian values of love, dignity, and justice.

The Africa Six: Pioneering Anglican Episcopal Women Leaders Transforming Poverty in Africa
To coincide with the Anglican presence at the United Nations' Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), the Anglican Communion Office hosted a special webinar featuring the six African women bishops. They discussed issues relating to gender justie and poverty in Africa.
Inspiring Inclusion - International Women's Day Webinar
To mark International Women’s Day 2024, the Rt Revd Vicentia Kgabe (Bishop of the Diocese of Lesotho), and the Revd Domnic Misolo (Director of The Institute for Faith and Gender Empowerment - IFAGE) were guest speakers on a webinar called ‘Inspiring Inclusion’. The wide-ranging conversation touched on a number of themes including gender justice, women in leadership and the role that men can play in working for more equal societies.
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign which takes place each year between 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and 10 December (Human Rights Day). The campaign is a good opportunity to speak out about domestic abuse, early and forced marriage, female genital mutilation and the many other forms of violence against women and girls.
