Commission for Theological Education in the Anglican Communion

The Anglican Consultative Council’s Standing Committee approved the establishment of the Commission for Theological Education in the Anglican Communion (CTEAC) in February 2022.

Chaired by the Rt Revd Dr Victor Atta-Baffoe, Bishop of Cape Coast in the Church of the Province of West Africa, CTEAC aims to build upon and expand the work previously undertaken by the Theological Education in the Anglican Communion (TEAC).

The commission enhances networking across seminaries and churches, develops online resources, and invites seminaries and training programs to become associate members.

With thirty-eight provinces having nominated commissioners, CTEAC was officially launched at ACC18 in Accra, Ghana.

Learning Resources

A series of educational and training resources intended for theological educators who train clergy and laity in seminaries and churches has been made available.

The resources cover five areas and were produced by dedicated working groups of CTEAC members. These fives areas are Intentional Discipleship, Slavery to Freedom, Reconciliation, Science and Faith and Safe Church.

The resources represent the conclusion of a two-year project which arose from the Lambeth Conference of 2022 and resolutions of the Anglican Consultative Council in Ghana in 2023.
