Anglican Communion Office at the United Nations Anticipates Arrival of New Observer

The Anglican Communion Office at the United Nations eagerly awaits the arrival of its new Observer, Hellen Wangusa of Uganda. Mrs. Wangusa brings extensive experience to the Anglican UN Office, including work with UNIFEM, the African Women’s Economic Policy Network (AWEPON), the World Council of Churches, and many other significant multilateral organizations. Although Mrs. Wangusa will not assume her position until January of 2007, the office daily prepares for her new leadership. Many of our partner NGOs, faith-based organizations, and church leaders have expressed their eagerness to meet Mrs. Wangusa and their excitement over the opportunity to work with such a distinguished woman. Let us continue to keep Hellen in our prayers as she transitions into a new role. She assumes one of the most important positions in the Anglican Communion at a significant time of global challenge.

The Reverend Canon Douglas M. Renegar
