[L'Eglise Episcopal au Rwanda - Rwanda] The Geneva Global Organization, a Christian organisation based in the USA, has initiated a water project in Nyamata, in Bugesera Province, worth 46,500 dollars to overcome water shortages in the area.

This was disclosed by Wim Groenendijk, a development expert attached to the Kigali Diocese of the Episcopal Church of Rwanda.

He noted that the project is under Archbishop Emmanuel Kolini and is intended to provide safe and clean water for the sake of improving the health conditions of over 200,000 Rwandese living in the area. The project targeted poor people in the area due to the prolonged dry season.

According to environmental reports, Bugesera Province has been the worst drought affected area in the country.
