[L'Eglise Episcopal au Rwanda - Rwanda] Joseph Nyamatara, a peace expert and leader of Le Rucher Ministries in Rwanda, has said the ministry is committed to carry peace messages across Africa.

He said this recently to over sixty religious activists who were attending a five-day workshop on trauma healing organized by the Anglican Diocese of Kigali, in Nyarugenge district.

"We have moved to DRC, Burundi, and Sudan in a bid to spread peace and unity messages, and we hope the political unrest in the region would come to an end," he told the enthusiastic audience, adding that as peace experts they would continue fighting anything that would attempt to derail peace in the region.

He advised Rwandans to unite and reconcile with one another for the sake of rebuilding the nation. "We are all equal before God; why hate and kill your fellow brothers and sisters?" he asked.

On his part, Anastazi Sabamungu, a peace scientist, appealed to religious bodies in the region to cultivate a peaceful path for communities in an attempt to halt genocide. "Religious bodies have the responsibility to heal the hearts, and preach unity and reconciliation to their flock for the sake of peace and security in the region," he said, adding that the action would prevent civil unrest in the region.

Le Rucher Ministries is a local and peace organisation which advocates for fighting genocide ideologies in the Great Lakes region. It has been involved in training and equipping churches in Great Lakes with skills related to peace and conflict resolution.
