[L'Eglise Episcopal au Rwanda - Rwanda] Hundreds of Christians gathered at Remera parish near the capital city of Kigali on Sunday, 25 February to commemorate the one year anniversary of the English service.
This service was initiated in a bid to attract English speakers living in the area, where church members usually communicate in the local language; Kinyarwanda.
The Archdeacon of Remera parish, Rev. Canon Peter Twahirwa presided over this function, which was held at St. Peter's Cathedral. Significantly, the function was also attended by Rwandan senators and prominent politicians.
Therefore, Chief Rev. Canon Peter noted that it was a blessing for the Anglican church of Rwanda to evangelize in the English language, and commended the flock for supporting the English service. He advised the congregation to stick to the Biblical norms for safety.
