[L'Eglise Episcopal au Rwanda - Rwanda] The Anglican Church of Rwanda has switched to sports evangelization in an attempt to enable the youth to develop good morals.
The sports evangelization project was initiated by the leader of the church, His Grace Archbishop Emmanuel Kolini, three years ago, according to church sports documents.
The action has encouraged youth across the country to form youth football teams in a bid to secure blessings from God when playing games.
"This sport is a blessing to the youth because it helps them grow knowing the essence of the word of God. This has really shaped their morals as a church we shall continue this for the benefit of our new generation," said Kolini in a recent press conference held at his office in Kigali Diocese.
On January 6, teenagers from Remera parish played a football match. The aim of the game was to thank God for having enabled them to enter a new year.
