[Melanesian Messenger - Melanesia] After making Solomon Islands his home for the past 17-years, Fr. Richard Carter from England has left to go back home on Friday April 8th.
Fr. Richard come to the Solomon Islands in 1987 as a young English teacher to teach at Selwyn College before moving on to become a lecturer at Bishop Patteson Theological College-Kohimarama and later as the tutor and chaplain of the Melanesian Brotherhood at Tabalia.
Solomon Islands will greatly miss Fr. Richard Carter, a gifted director and actor. His last drama, the 'Passion of our Lord,' was performed by about 70 Melanesian Brothers and other members of the Society of Saint Francis, Sisters of the Church and Sisters of Melanesia in the Holy Week and Easter.
