[Melanesian Messenger - Melanesia] On Sunday morning, November 21st, the Bishop of Malaita, Bishop Terry Brown, ordained 14 new deacons for the Diocese at the Cathedral Church of Christ the King, Fiu. The event was also the Cathedral's patronal festival.
The 14 new Deacons are Kingsley Houa, Coleridge Au, Dudley Tata from Small Malaita Region; Gordon Dime, Coleridge Maeluma, Patrick Kiko and Mark Kairi from Northern Region; Martin Aimeo from Keava Region; Raphael Bamanu, Ambrose Maegu and Moses Sulimae from Central Region, and Stanley Keni'arumia, Philip Raeratana and Samuel Taraipo from Arekwa Region. All are graduates of either Bishop Patteson Theological College or Airahu Training Centre. Some will serve as parish priests, some as village priests
They are all graduates of either Bishop Patteson Theological College or Airahu Training Centre.
Fr. David Hikinao, Deputy Principal of Airahu Training Centre preached on the theme of Christ the King. The ordination was followed by a feast and entertainment.
