[Melanesian Messenger - Melanesia] The picture shows the General Secretary of the Church of Melanesia in Solomon Islands, Mr. George Kiriau, cutting the ribbon to officially open a new building for Tasia Training Centre in the Diocese of Ysabel last Sunday.
This new two-storey building houses a classroom, a dormitory and a library. The Centre has re-opened after three years of closure due to its dilapidated state. The re-opening means that all ministerial training programmes for the diocese will now be normalised.
At the dedication and re-opening ceremony, the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt Revd Richard Naramana, said he was optimistic about the growth and development of the Centre in terms of infrastructure and the range of courses it is offering.
The second phase of the Centre Project, which includes staff housing, is yet to start.
