[Melanesian Messenger - Melanesia] A leadership training workshop is being organised for Bishops, Diocesan Secretaries, Mission Secretaries and Heads of Church of Melanesia Institutions in Solomon Islands and Vanuatu early next month in Honiara.
This workshop to take place on 1-3 July is being organized in partnership with the Anglican Board of Mission, Australia who will provide the resource persons for and facilitate the training for the Church.
This workshop, the General Secretary, Mr. George Kiriau, said, is held to equip those who head the Church in various capacities so that they could exercise the kind of leadership that would result in the Church fulfilling its mission and ministry.
“The training represents continuing efforts by the Church to equip further those who head and who occupy management positions within the Church.
“It would be followed by what is called a Conversation within the Anglican Board of Mission, Australia during which various topics will be discussed,” he said.
This will be held on 4th July, 2007.
Mr. Kiriau said some of the topics that may be discussed during the Conversation include Global Warming/Climate Change, Millennium Development Goals, and HIV and AIDS and other issues as well.
