[EAB Press - Burundi] The election process is proceeding relatively peacefully with only a few disturbances occurring in some areas.
On 3rd June the population elected members of the local commune councils with the CNDD-FDD gaining the highest percentage of votes.
In July further elections will be held for members of the National Assembly. These will be followed by elections for the Senate and then for the President.
The process is scheduled to be complete by the end of August.
