[EAB Press - Burundi] § Bujumbura diocese thanked, and said farewell to, Jurgen and Monika Wiegel from the Liebenzeller Mission, Germany, who leave Burundi after 11 years. Jurgen has worked primarily on the development of TEE. Monika has helped with the widows’ group among many other activities..
§ The visit of Rev. Philip Venables to St. Luke’s Parish, Gitega, strengthened their link with St. John’s Church, Penge, UK. Philip was able to meet many Christians from the parish. St. Johns was thanked for the roofing materials they gave for St. Luke’s daughter churches.
§ Makamba diocese has held its first Youth Crusade. Over 1400 youth representing nearly all the parishes gathered for three consecutive days. They looked at the issue of HIV/AIDS. Many made a commitment to Christ. The use of traditional music and dance in worship inspired many.
§ The M.U. in Matana diocese has celebrated the “2004 International Year of the Family” with a special service in the cathedral.
