[EAB Press - Burundi] Ordinations
During July and August, ordinations took place in the dioceses of Muyinga, Bujumbura and Makamba. One priest and five deacons were ordained in Muyinga: this was the first service of ordination in the new diocese. Four deacons and 34 priests were ordained in Bujumbura, while 2 priests were ordained in Makamba.

Anniversary Celebrations in Makamba
To mark its 10th anniversary, Makamba diocese organised a number of events from 2nd to 5th August. More than 2000 young people participated in a youth crusade, after which more than 2000 people joined in services of ordination and thanksgiving. A competition between choirs was one of the highlights of the weekend. Among the guests was the Bishop of the Diocese of Kasulu in Tanzania accompanied by two choirs and three pastors. The Most Rev Bernard Ntahoturi preached at the service of ordination.

"Walking to Emmaus" Consultation
Towards the end of July, the Most Revd Bernard Ntahoturi joined other delegates in Madrid for a consultation convened by Trinity Church, Wall Street, which brought together bishops from 31 dioceses in Africa and 24 companion dioceses in the USA. The theme was "Discovering New Mission Perspectives in Changing Times". It provided an opportunity for participants to strengthen and develop mission partnerships and share together their vision for mission as Anglicans.

Visit of the CMS Praxis team
The members of the CMS Praxis team were hosted by Gitega diocese from 29th June to 11th July. They were able to experience the work and ministry of the diocese in order to better understand the work of the Church, as well as share experiences and stories.

News in Brief
The Province welcomed the Revd David Peck from Lambeth along with Robert Osgood and Abigail Osgood. They were looking at the work and needs of Church schools.

Matana diocese has been able to assist vulnerable families with maize, beans, blankets, soap, hoes, and fabric due to support from TearFund and the Mothers' Union. The distributions were attended by the Archbishop, the Most Revd Bernard Ntahoturi, and the wife of the first Vice President of Burundi.
