[The Church of Ceylon (E-P) - Ceylon] With the natural disasters that have hit the world in the past month, we in Sri Lanka are able to empathise with the many victims of misfortune in Vietnam, China. Central America and along the Gulf Coast, USA.
As flood waters subside post-hurricanes, we in Sri Lanka can relate to the emotional and psychological issues faced by the displaced as they return to their homes and neighbourhoods.
We have come to learn the crucial need to address the psycho-social concerns as we still are supporting this long-term recovery process. We also share in the struggles in the relief efforts specially since we in Sri Lanka continue to face obstacles to our housing reconstruction and housing repair efforts.
In solidarity with our friends abroad, we keep all affected persons in our thoughts and prayers.
