New Archbishop for the Province of Indian Ocean

[CAPA - ] The Rt. Rev. Gerald James Ian Ernest has been appointed the new Archbishop for the Province of Indian Ocean. Bishop Ian is the bishop of the Diocese of Mauritius.

He was ordained into priesthood on 29th June 1985 and was consecrated Bishop on 24th June 2001. He is married to Kamla and a blessed with a son Julian.

The new Archbishop will be enthroned on 19th February 2006.

We wish the Archbishop-Elect God’s wisdom and blessings as he prepares to shepherd His flock in the Province of Indian Ocean.
