Archbishop Of Canterbury To Meet With Great Lakes Region Primates

[CAPA - Africa] The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, will meet with CAPA Primates from the Great Lakes Region on 20th July 2005 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Archbishop will be en route from Burundi where he will be attending the enthronement of the 3rd Archbishop of Burundi, Benard Ntahoruri.

The forum purposes to think together and consider the role of the faith-based groups in post-conflict reconstruction and development; to begin mapping structure, work and capacity of Anglican national churches and the ecumenical counterparts; and to identify program and support gaps for future consideration.

Provinces of Congo, Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Sudan, hosts Kenya as well CAPA, WCC and CMS representatives have been invited to attend this forum.
