New Archbishops to be enthroned on January 25

[CAPA - Uganda] The Anglican Church of Uganda (CoU) and the Church of the Province of West Africa (CPWA) will simultaneously enthrone their new archbishops on Sunday January 25, 2004.

The Rt. Rev. Henry Orombi will be enthroned at the Namirembe Cathedral in Kampala, while the Rt. Rev Justice Akrofi will be enthroned at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Accra, Ghana.

Thousands of faithful, church leaders and government officials are expected to attend the two historic services.

Invitations from the Church of Uganda however turned dramatic after the church withdrew an invitation to the Episcopal Church of the United States (ECUSA) following the consecration of Bishop Gene Robinson.
