Bishop Promotes South-to-South Ties in S-E Asia Visit

[Diocese of Antsiranana - Indian Ocean] Bishop Roger Chung visited the Dioceses of South East Asia in early August to enhance mission and evangelism networking in the South-to-South area.

In Singapore he met with Archbishop John Chiew and preached in St James Church in Holland Village the Rector of the Church is Terry Wong who is also the Alpha Course director in Singapore.

Bishop David Lai of Taiwan welcomed Bishop Roger in Taipeh. He preached in the Good Shepherd Church there, where the Rev Lily Chang is ministering. The church, built by the Episcopalians of ECUSA in the post-war era, has a famous replica of the Nestorian Cross – a reminder of the Christian Mission in China carried out in the 7th century by Nestorian Missionaries from the Middle East.

In Sabah , the new Bishop Albert Vun invited Bishop Roger to preach at the Good Samaritan Church in Kota Kinabalu. Bishop Albert Vun had visited Mauritius and led two mission teams there while Bishop Roger was rector of St Paul’s s Church in Mauritius. Today that church has known exponential growth due to the Cell Church program.

Suffragan Bishop Yong Chen Fa is the rector of the Good Samaritan Church. A mission team will be visiting Madagascar in the near future.
