[Diocese of Antsiranana - Indian Ocean] The Most Rev Ian Ernest, the Bishop of Mauritius, has been installed as Archbishop of the Province of the Indian Ocean in a service in the city of Port Louis in his home diocese.
Archbishop Ernest succeeds Bishop Remi Rabenirina of Antananarivo Diocese. He was elected recently at a Provincial Synod meeting held in the Diocese of Toamasina, Madagascar.
The installation was attended by, among others, the Prime Minister of Mauritius, the Hon.
Navinchandra Ramgoolam. Bishop Roger Chung of our Diocese was one of the visiting bishops from the remainder of the Province and the Communion who attended.
