ANTSIRANANA 080622-1
June 22, 2008

[Diocese of Antsiranana - Indian Ocean] The Rt Rev Roger Jaomalaza Chung Po Chuen was honoured at the Cathedral of St Matthew in Antsiranana for his 5th anniversary of his consecration as Bishop of Antsiranana. The Vicar General, the Rev Octave Sola and the Dean of the Cathedral the very Rev J Lehibe led the special service for all the Scouts of Diego Suarez with representatives from all the denominations present.
On the morning of Saturday the fatted calf was slaughtered for the feast. The Scouts and Girl Guides organised a lunch for all the guests while the St Matthew Cathedral committee organised a Brochette Party during the evening for the whole church and open to everyone.
Bishop Roger Jaomalaza reminded the Scouts during the sermon that the motto of the Scouts is BE PREPARED and the Scouts of the Diocese were always present to help the development of the Church and all fields of the society. The Scouts were the most helpful in the building of the Cathedral which was also celebrating its first anniversary last 17th June. The Bishop talked about the Staying power needed to fulfil the dreams and vision of the glorious ministry in Mission and Evangelisation in the Anglican Church . Youth work in the Diocese of Antsiranana is greatly enhanced by the super motivated Scouts who are often taking pro-active measures in social matters.
