RICE MILL PROJECT FROM CNECPI AUSTRALIA AND CONFIRMATION IN VOHEMAR

[Diocese of Antsiranana - Indian Ocean] The Parish of Vohemar under the Rectorship of the Canon Paul Bert Jaozandry celebrated the yearly event of Confirmation in the Parish with 44 confirmed by Bishop Roger chung Jaomalaza . Due to the growing number of parishioners , the parish church of St Paul's is being extended by 10 metres and the work have progresses to the height of the roof.

The mission work in the parish was started in the 1860's by missionaries from CMS who were to expand the mission to the whole northern Madagascar eventually. One of the latest Churches to be built is the Church of Nazareth in the village of Fanamban last year.

The Rice Mill project is also growing steadily with the help of CNECPI Australia . Self supporting projects in the poverty striken areas are such a great blessing to Churches which have always developed a dependency sydrome in the past.
The Diocese of Antsiranana is thankful to all who can further such help. Madagascar produces rice plains and in the valleys of the mountains and hills.
