New Archdeacon the Venerable Julien Ravelomanana chosen by Bishop Roger Chung Jaomalaza.
March 17, 2008

[Diocese of Antsiranana - Indian Ocean] The Diocese of Antsiranana has a new Archdeacon in the person of the Venerable Julien Ravelomanana. He moved to the Diocese of Antsiranana from the diocese of Majunga where he was the Dean of the Cathedral. He has now spent five years as the parish priest of Sirama . Sirama is a little town where the sugar factory is situated in this fertile flat land of Northern Madagascar but due to bad management it closed down. Recently a Chinese company from mainland China has taken a 20 year contract to re-run the rusted factory and invest in it again. So most of the people were leaving the place for other regions.Ven Julien has achieved a major qualitative and quantitative growth in that parish along with his wife the Rev Nivondrazana who is among the first three woman to be ordained to the Diaconate in the ecclesiastical hierarchy in Antsiranana Diocese.
The former Archdeacon has been playing a renegade role and disturbing the life of the large parish of Ambilobe . The Parish leaders have massively complained of the disturbance to the life of the Parish and to the mission work in Ambilobe. So the new Archdeacon venerable Julien Ravelomanana will be taking over the Parish of Ambilobe as from Easter 2008. We pray for a peaceful hand-over as threats of disturbance and violence have been thrown to the Church leaders of Ambilobe and to the newly nominated Archdeacon by the former Archdeacon and consorts.
