| Anglican Mission revived in the Island of Reunion in Jan 2008 |

[Diocese of Antsiranana - Indian Ocean] A new start for a mission church in Reunion Island has been initiated by Bishop Roger Chung Jaomalaza during the Christmas and new Year 2008. The Provincial Synod of the Indian Ocean which met in Feb 2007 in Antsiranana Diocese had delegated the responsibility of this Church plant to the Bishop of Antsiranana.
Since the passing away of the Rev Clency Madarbaccus in 2005 the former chaplain to Reunion, the Anglican community in Reunion was orphaned.
So Bishop Roger Chung visited the Anglicans and restarted the coordinating of the renewed mission .
The Carmelite Catholic sisters of Reunion invited Bishop Roger to give a talk on ecumenism to their convent in Aviron in the south of the Island.
Prof Hery Ratsimanirimanana coordinated the mission in the South and the Rev Emile Rakotoarivelo has been named the new Chaplain.
