[Diocese of Antsiranana - Indian Ocean] The Bemaneviky Ambanja region in the middle of the rain forest saw the water level rise to some three metres from the river bed during the cyclone Indlala. The catastrophe was enormous.
The students at St Laurent School received help in the form of food , mosquito nets, soap and other commodities. The parish priest, Canon Theophile Botomazava, is to have a new house 3 metres above the ground so that flood waters will not bother his family the next time.
