Brief history of Diocese:
The Diocese was established on 1 May 1970 when the Churches of Basel Mission, Weslyan Methodist, and Anglican churches united under the CSI. The Diocese is established in 8 revenue districts. More than 75% of the area is rural and underdeveloped.

The Diocesan Ministry involves:
- Pastoral Ministry through 138 congregations
- Education Ministry through Colleges and Schools
- Healing Ministry through 3 major hospitals and it's rural health centres
- Social Service through Boarding Homes and Day Care Centres for boys and girls and Dalits specially challenged and Evangelisation through all these ministries.
