On the final day of the Primates’ Meeting in Dublin, Primates discussed the content of final documents that had been prepared over the week. They began with reviewing the first draft of a working document on the proposed purpose and scope of the Primates’ Meeting. They then reviewed other documents—letters and statements—covering a range of international issues.

La réunion d’aujourd’hui est passée du travail de réflexion sur l’exercice de la primatie et l’objectif et la nature de la Réunion des Primats, au rôle, à l’objectif et à la composition du Comité Permanent des Primats. Les Primats ont suggéré que le comité pourrait remplir des rôles supplémentaires à leur participation au Conseil Consultatif anglican (ACC) et au Comité Permanent, tels que « maintenir» la vie, la vision et l’esprit de la réunion entre les Réunions des Primats; aider à former leurs futures réunions, et agir en tant que groupe consultatif pour l’Archevêque de Cantorbéry.

La reunión de hoy pasó de la labor de reflexión sobre el ejercicio de la primacía y la finalidad e índole de la reunión de primados, a la consideración del papel, propósito y composición del Comité Permanente de los Primados. Además de asistir al Consejo Consultivo Anglicano (ACC) y el Comité Permanente, otros roles propuestos para el comité por los primados incluyeron el “mantenimiento” de la vida, visión y espíritu de reunión entre las reuniones de primados; ayudar a darle forma a sus reuniones futuras; y actuar como grupo consultivo para el arzobispo de Canterbury.

Primates' Meeting - Briefing #4

Today’s meeting moved from the work of reflecting on the exercise of primacy and the purpose and nature of the Primates’ Meeting, to considering the role, purpose and composition of the Standing Committee of the Primates. In addition to attending the Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) and the Standing Committee, other roles suggested for the committee by Primates included “holding” the life, vision and spirit of the meeting between the Primates’ Meetings; helping to shape their future meetings; and acting as a consultative group for the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Pendant la troisième journée de la réunion, les Primats de la Communion anglicane ont commencé à considérer plus précisément la « primatie ».  En petits groupes, ils ont discuté de leur compréhension et de leur expérience de la théologie et de la pratique de la primatie dans leurs Provinces, au niveau régional, et au niveau de la Communion. L’objectif de la matinée était de partager en session plénière les différences et les similarités de la primatie dans les Provinces de la Communion.

On Day three of the meeting, Primates of the Anglican Communion began to more closely consider ‘primacy’. In small groups they discussed their understanding and experience of the theology and practice of primacy in their Provinces, at the Regional level and at the Communion level. The purpose of the morning was to share in plenary the differences and similarities of primacy in Communion provinces.
