The third meeting of the Anglican Jewish Commission of the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Chief Rabbinate of Israel took place at the offices of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel on 24th and 25th March 2009/ 28th and 29th Adar 5769.
The Joint Committee, which is composed of a delegation from the Anglican Communion and from Al Azhar Al Sharif held its seventh annual meeting in Cairo on 18-19 November 2008 corresponding to 20-21 Dhu Al-Qa'da 1429. This was held in accord with the agreement signed at Lambeth Palace on 30 January 2002 by the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Grand Imam of Al Azhar.

A team of scholars and churchpeople, nominated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Rowan Williams, will be meeting with key representatives of al-Azhar al-Sharif in Cairo - the leading religious institution in the Sunni Muslim world
The visit to Ridley Hall Theological College, Cambridge, England by Shaykh Fawzy El-Zafzaf, President of the Committee for Dialogue with the Monotheistic Faiths of Al Azhar, the renowned Islamic university and Centre in Cairo, Egypt, marks a significant new development in the building of relations between the Anglican Communion and Al Azhar.
Arrangements are well under way for the Al Azhar-Anglican Communion Dialogue which will take place in New York 10-11 September 2003.
