From the Church of North India
The 14th Ordinary Synod of the Church of North India was held at St. Thomas School, New Delhi from 6th to 9th October 2011 drawing nearly 450 diocesan representatives, fraternal delegates, mission partners, and institutional heads.
The four days of meeting centered on the theme “Arise and Build: Fear not, for I am With You Always”. This triennial event in the life of the church draws its significance from the deliberations, sharing of ideas and vision for mission which is then entrusted to a new leadership for carrying them forward.
The delegates of the 14th Ordinary Synod have elected The Most Revd. Dr. Philip P. Marandih, Bishop of the Diocese of Patna, as the Moderator and The Rt. Rev. Pradeep Kumar Samantaroy, Bishop of the Diocese of Amritsar, as the Deputy Moderator of the Church of North India for the next triennium.
Please uphold these two Bishops in your prayer as the whole church looks up to them for their vibrant and earnest leaderships in fulfilling the motto – Unity, Witness and Service.
