An Information Session

on the Chronology and Documents related to the decision by the Diocese of New Westminster (Anglican Province of Canada) to authorize the blessing of same sex unions was held Wednesday 18 September 2002 at 1.30 p.m. during lunch break of the ACC meeting in Hong Kong.

Approximately 80 persons attended and all the provinces of the Anglican Communion (present at ACC12) were represented at the gathering. The meeting was open to all ACC members and was voluntary.

The Archbishop of Armagh, the Most Revd Robin Eames, chaired the session at the request of ACC member, The Rt Revd Michael Ingham, Bishop of New Westminster. Also present were the Primate of Canada, the Most Revd Michael Peers, ACC representative Dr Stephen Toope, Archbishop David Crawley, Metropolitan of the Province of British Columbia and Yukon, and the Chancellor of British Columbia and the Yukon, George Cadman.

Presentations were made by all members of the panel and questions asked from the people attending.

The session closed with a prayer by Archbishop Eames.
