Scottish churches to remember September 11

Scottish Episcopal churches will be opening their doors on Wednesday to remember the September 11 attacks and their aftermath. Notable events include a prayer labyrinth at Edinburgh University's Chaplaincy Centre in Bristo Square. People will be able to walk through a replica of the Labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral in France, stopping at set points to pray and reflect.

Old St Paul's Church in the city centre will also be building on its role as a centre of prayer after the atrocities. In the immediate aftermath of the New York attacks last year many American tourists staying at nearby hotels came to pray at the church. This year, the historic church will be holding an all-day vigil.

A selection of Episcopal events in the city are listed, along with contact details for each church, at www.scottishepiscopal.com.
