The Most Reverend Gregory Venables installed as new Diocesan Bishop of Argentina

On Saturday 12 October at a special service during the Diocesan Synod, Bishop Venables was enthroned as the next Diocesan Bishop for the Diocese of Argentina.

Bishop Gregory is also the Presiding Bishop and Primate of the Anglican Province of the Southern Cone.

He has had a long ministry in the South American continent, first as Headmaster at St Andrew's College in Asunción (Paraguay) and later in Bolivia, where he was the Diocesan for 8 years. He also supervised Perú when that See was vacant.

Bishop Gregory plays an active part in the Anglican Communion both in Primates’ Meetings and as chair of the Theological Education Commission for the Archbishop of Canterbury.

He succeeds the Right Reverend David Leake, who retired recently after a long and fruitful ministry in Argentina.
