A reunion week was held in July 2000 for graduates of the Anglican Cathedral College in Belize, which was formed by the amalgamation in 1982 of St Hilda's College and St Michael's College. The theme of the reunion was "Remember, Commit, Give."
The week began with a service of thanksgiving in St John's Cathedral, presided over by Bishop Sylvestre Romero as chief celebrant, with the Revds Lynda Moguel, Ilona Smiling and Lloyd Neal as co-celebrants.
Events during the week included trips to local landmarks, an awards ceremony, and a practical school project where the graduates were helped by the Bishop to paint the outside walls of the Albert Street classrooms. An hilarious performance night was held, and guests at the grand finale banquet and dance included the Governor General and Prime Minister, both graduates of St Michael's College. A sum of $4,500 was presented to the management of the Anglican Cathedral College at the banquet. This was an initial donation towards the work of refurbishing the school buildings.
Many of the participants reported the week was more like a family reunion, and many resolved, in line with the reunion's theme, not to let the love and goodwill enjoyed go to waste. The goals arising out of the reunion extend into the future, with a commitment to assist the young people of Belize through the Anglican Cathedral College. The group of former students who had planned the reunion since early in 1999 plans to build on the commitment shown at this event.
