Episcopalians from across the country will gather Aug. 27-30 at Kanuga Conferences Inc. for Nuevo Amanecer, a national gathering on strengthening and starting Latino/Hispanic congregations.
Co-sponsored with the Episcopal Church's Office of Latino/Hispanic Ministries, this biennial conference will offer practical tools and a network of support to better equip for ministry those working within the Latino/Hispanic community and those who want to be visit www.kanuga.org or call 828-692-9136.
Clergy, diocesan missioners, parish staff, church planters and lay leaders will gather to expand their knowledge by sharing best practices and exploring new methods of stewardship, church growth and evangelism. The conference also will focus on ways to develop Latino/Hispanic ministries within the Episcopal Church without losing vibrant cultural identity.
Three keynoters will give presentations centering on the conference theme, "Many People, One Family."

The Rev. Simon Bautista, canon for Latino ministries in the Diocese of Washington, D.C., president of the board of directors of Casa de Maryland,?a community organization that works to improve the quality of life and fights for equal treatment and full access to resources and opportunities for low-income Latinos and their families.
