The Bishop of Owo Diocese of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Reverend James Oladunjoye, Sunday, called on President Goodluck Jonathan to take a decisive step to curb the menace of Boko Haram sect in the country.
Delivering a sermon at the 5th memorial thanksgiving service for the former governor of Ondo State, Chief Adebayo Adefarati, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Akungba-Akoko, Oladunjoye tasked the President to be more pro-active in handling the insurrection in the North.
According to him, the president must do more to protect the lives and properties of the people of the country, saying “the action of the President towards the dreaded group could be likened to a situation where President Jonathan is consciously scrolling the head of a live cobra.
President Jonathan is demonstrating his weakness towards tackling the Boko Haram problem. I tell you, people of God, you don’t scroll the cobra on it head; but unfortunately that’s exactly what President Jonathan is doing with Boko Haram.”
