New Zealand: Archbishop's invite prayer at all services this Sunday for the Port of Auckland dispute

“Almost 300 workers are now unemployed as a result of this conflict, and we are particularly conscious of the impact on the wellbeing of those workers and their families.

“Our two local bishops, together with the Catholic Bishop of Auckland, offered to help mediate the dispute in the first place – and members of the Social Justice Commission, together with others from this Church, have since stood on the picket line.

“We welcome prayer for the legal process now being engaged in by both parties and intercede for a just outcome.

“We pray for those with authority, those whose decisions affect the lives of others and those who struggle for the rights of workers in this country.

“May we all seek to work together for a just and equitable society for all our people.”
