Another month before details of temporary cathedral

The Anglican Church says it will be at least another month before details of a temporary cathedral for Christchurch are made public.

The church has indicated it's seeking an alternative place of worship to the badly damaged cathedral in the central city including a possible cardboard cathedral.

Bishop Victoria Matthews says she's confident in the next month or so they'll have a site for the transitional cathedral.

"Sometime after that we will be getting more information about the further damage that happened on the 23rd of December and the 2nd of January."

Bishop Victoria says sadly engineers tell her considerably more damage has been sustained.
