New bishop for Uganda's North Kigezi Diocese

The Rev. Canon Patrick Tugume-Tusingwire has been elected the 4th Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, replacing Rt. Rev. Edward Muhima.

The election was made during the House of Bishops of the Church of the Province of Uganda sitting at Lweza Training and Conference Centre on 7th April 2011. His consecration and enthronement will take place at Emmanuel Cathedral, Kinyansano, Rukungiri on the 5th June 2011. Rev. Canon Tugume-Tusingwire, holds a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology from Anglia Polytechnic Uiversity-UK, a Bachelor of Divinity from Association of Theological Institutions in East Africa and a Diploma in Theology from Makerere University.

He has also attended a variety of courses, trainings and workshops. Rev. Canon Patrick Tugume-Tusingwire worked as Diocesan Secretary, Archdeacon, Parish Priest, and Primary School Teacher. He has served in many other capacities within Church related structures.

Currently, he is the Administrator of the Namirembe Resource Centre. Patrick is married to Eva Ntoraine and God has blessed them with four children.
