Substantial amounts of time are allocated for reports on work mandated by the General Synod of 2007 including:

  • On-going deliberations over issues of human sexuality

The synod will also consider a significant number of resolutions generated by its many standing committees. We will celebrate the wrap-up of the 50th Anniversary of the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) and a great diocesan service commemorating the 300th Anniversary of the beginning of worship in the Anglican Tradition in Nova Scotia will be celebrated. Synod members will welcome a number of international guests including The Right Rev. Suheil Dawani, Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem; The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church (USA); Bishop Miguel Tamayo, interim Bishop of Cuba and Canon Kenneth Kearon, Secretary General of the Anglican Communion. A media room will be established on the 2nd floor of the Tower Building for media registration. Press credentials are mandatory for all registrants. A designated area for photos and observation of proceedings will be available. Along with plenary sessions accredited media representatives will have limited access to worship services, media conferences and the media room, some of the outside events and any other media briefings.

Although every effort will be made to accommodate requests for accreditation, priority will be given to those members of the media working for bona fide media organizations.??

An opening and closing media conference will be held with Archbishop Fred Hiltz, the Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada. The Primate will give his presidential address to the General Synod members on the morning of Friday, June 4.
